Of their ilk

Where, other than the written rhetoric of conservatives do you find the word ilk? I can’t recall any time that I have heard the word spoken. I am not sure why the word seems to be so popular, however I have a few ideas. First, it feels nearly impossible to say the word without curling ones lip in disapproval. Secondly it is commonly used along with another politically condescending word, elitist. So “liberal elitists and their ilk” are apparently by nature the modern-day lepers for conservative, freedom loving, Americans. We, for alas I am one, lurk in the shadows and promote anti-Constitutional principles like a woman’s right of choice in health decisions and the legalization of gay and lesbian unions. We are clearly in the sites of the NRA for we oppose all things Second Amendment and everyone knows we were instrumental in the IRS and Benghazi cover ups.

All this has made me hungry. Think I’ll get some Oreos and a glass of milk.

Free to be a fool

My home state Senator, Roy Blunt, has managed to successfully identify himself as a class A fool. The truly unfortunate thing is all the other Republicans ,save one, went along for the ride. Even more unfortunate is the fact that we have to live with him for 4 more years.
